University of Hawaii 2.2 Meter Telescope
The University of Hawaii 2.2 meter telescope on Mauna Kea in Hawaii is using a telescope control program I wrote from August 1999 to December 2000. This telescope is operated by the University of Hawaii. The computer running the system is a rack mount pentium running Linux as the operating system. The software consists of 22 independent processes which control different aspects of the telescope's operation: RA and DEC paddle motion, RA and DEC auto motion, communications, dome, focus, location transformations, calculations, display, paddle, auto guider, etc. The system is similar to the system I wrote for the Hiltner 2.4 meter telescope on Kitt Peak.
